New User Interface for the N4B2
A new User Interface (UI) is available for the N4B2 series of LG NAS devices. Although not required, we recommend you upgrade your firmware to the new UI.
While installing the new UI, the NAS will be initialized. This means the NAS will be re-formatted. You must back up all of your data if you wish to upgrade to the new UI.
There only a few disadvantages to upgrading, but there are many advantages. The advantages are listed below in new features and updates. Disadvantages to upgrading are: Hard Drives must be re-formatted, iSCSI for the optical drive is no longer supported, and learning a new user interface.

- iSCSI for the optical drive is no longer supported (but Hdd is).

- This is a bulletin board for sharing info with other users on the NAS

- The current access status check by services (Web, CIFS(samba), AFP, FTP, NFS)
- Torrent destination folder is changeable

- If a user click a ‘Auto upgrade’ button, NAS checks if there is new firmware. If there it is, NAS download and update it automatically.

4. Time-Machine fix: Sometimes after users create a new Time Machine Backup Folder, Time Machine Backup doesn’t work.
5. Mac OS 9 is now supported. Fixed a Korean language characters issue when creating folders on Mac OS 9.
6. Fixed the booting delay issue when DDNS is activated.
7. Fixed the issue regarding Automatic Hard Disk partitioning. The NAS will no longer create partitions automatically on a new inserted Hard Disk.

(LG-NAS WebMenu --> System --> Firmware) Auto F/W Update. Once a month, the NAS checks for new firmware. By default, it will download and install new firmware automatically. A pop-up window will inform Admin next time they log in. |
