Make sure that the unit is on and that the proper settings have been selected according to humidity in the area the unit is located. Temperature of the room must be higher than the humidity setting on the unit. The fan will cycle on and off during use when unit is ran constantly. To clean the air filter remove the bucket from the front of the dehumidifier. Slide the air filter out from behind the upper part of the front grille. Wash filter with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Rinse the air filter completely and allow to air dry before returning it to the unit. To clean the coils use a soft brush and clean thoroughly. Do not allow water to enter the electrical/machine compartments. Some air filters are located on the rear side of the dehumidifiers and should be cleaned every 30 days as needed. Every few weeks rinse the bucket of the unit with mild detergent to prevent mold, mildew, and the growth of bacteria. These can cause a bad odor to be released into the air.
