1. Try to start the on-screen menu of converter box. If on-screen menu appears, an Auto Tuning feature on converter box needs to have channel list created.
2. Make sure proper cables are being used to connect digital cable to TV and are routed correctly. Also, check cables coming from converter are correct and in the right inputs.
3. Make sure TV is on the correct channel or input. Typically channel 3 or 4 is used. Outputs needed are determined on whether TV is using RF output or Video inputs. Video inputs are used when on composite connections.
4. Try playing a DVD or VHS tape. If DVD or VHS players work, cables may not be connected correctly. Press the menu button located on TV. If menu does not display, problem is with TV. Call for service.
5. Connect converter box to another TV. If converter box works on another TV and displays picture, problem may have been with the input on original TV. If neither TV receives picture, problem may be with converter or cables. Try replacing cables and converter box.
6. Change cable connection from converter to display. If problem disappears, problem may be cables. Try a different cable and route straight from converter box. If picture still does not appear, problem may be converter box. If picture appears on new cables, then old cable was the cause of no picture.
