Using the TV as a center channel speaker.
|
| Note: This article is for customers using advanced Home Theater Amplifiers....and who connect all devices to the amplifier instead of directly to the TV. |
Some customers like to use the TV as their center speaker. Newer LG TVs don't have a center channel input, but you can still use the TV as your center channel in some cases. |
|
When using HDMI for Video
The TV listens for audio on the HDMI cable. If there is no audio on the HDMI cable, it listens for audio on the phono jack audio input. So you can input your center channel audio to the phono jack audio input. This will normally require an RCA to phono jack cable. Note: This option will only work if there is no audio sent through the HDMI cable. And...we are also assuming you are only using HDMI input(s). |

When using Component for Video
You simply connect the center channel audio to the input next to the component video input. This only works when you are using one Component input and do not switch inputs on the TV.
Center channel support was removed from our TVs since most people buy a set of speakers and want to use the same type of speaker for all of their channels. We are researching the option of adding this feature back to our TVs. Feel free to call or email our support department if you would find this useful.
