Washing Machine: Long wash times
Is the washer leveled properly? |
Is HE (High Efficiency) detergent or too much detergent being used? |
It is very important that the machine be installed correctly. If the washer is not leveled properly, it will take longer to wash because the unit will not be able to perform the washing functions correctly. How the washer fills with water, tumbles the clothing, and even the drain and spin operations are hindered if the washer is not leveled correctly. |
LG Washers have systems to detect excessive suds and remove them by adding water. If the unit needs to add more water to the load to dilute the detergent then this will increase the cycle time. Never exceed the max fill line on the liquid detergent tray. In addition, when HE detergent is used start by using the amount as directed on the packaging, and reduce the amount if excessive suds are noticed. If non-HE detergent is used, switch to HE detergent. |

Is the wash load tangled, unevenly distributed, or too small? |
If the load is tangled or unevenly distributed in the drum, this causes vibrations and affects to the washing performance of the unit will occur because more weight is distributed in some areas of the drum than in others. The washer is equipped with an imbalance detection and correction system. When the washer detects and unbalanced condition, it will delay the wash and attempt to correct the issue. Similarly, if the load size is too small during a wash, and an unbalanced condition is detected the wash time will be halted while the unit attempts to correct it. For small loads, it is recommended to add a few similar items to allow for even weight distribution. |
