Optical drive drivers

LG drives are supported by the built in ATAPI driver that is included in Windows Operating Systems. You don't need to install another device driver. There is a generic MS-DOS driver available under the driver section for using the drive in MS-DOS. If the drive doesn't work and Window's Device Manager shows the drive with an exclamation point next to it, there are many things that can cause this problem. Please contact Customer Support to help troubleshoot the problem.

Some External drives do need a driver for Windows 98. You can download any available ODD (Optical Disc Drive) driver from http://us.lgservice.com. Click "Software updates". Choose "Computer Products" and "DVD-ROM" from the drop-down menus. Enter the model number in the subject box and click Search. Download the latest version (highest number).
