Why does windows ask me for a password?

To access a folder on the NAS without Windows asking for a user name and password, you must set the proper permissions in the NAS web menu. First you set up a user account on the NAS and then give that user permissions to the desired folders.

1) Click Share
2) Click User.
3) Click Create User.

4) Fill in the info and then click Create.
5) Now click Folder.
6) Click the folder name you wish to share (or click create).
7) Under “Folder Access Restriction”, you can set permissions for users and groups…or you can click disable next to “Folder Access Restriction” to allow everyone full access.
8) Click Save when done.
